Well, my episode on Horsemaster was pretty cool. I didn't look as bad as I felt. Marley was such a stud.

I got Marley to do a completely relaxed collected canter. To the right. Without locking his jaw. For the first time ever. Myler bits are a god damn miracle. I want a million of them.
Marley and I took a pretty gnarly tumble in our lesson this morning. I was trying to add a stride at an oxer and Marley was fussing and didn't clear it. He came down on his knees on the other side and I got tangled up in the recovery. Marley was lucky and isn't hurt, thank God. I broke a rib and bruised my hip and back. Better me than my horse.
The amazing and unfortunate thing about Marley's bloodlines is that he's inherited this incredible instinct to fight.
My strained hamstrings can attest to that. I didn't think I could strain a hamstring while riding...
The shiniest thoroughbutt.

Spring snow turns Marley into a high-flying, acrobatic donkey.
I had to sit him down and have a "You're a big kid now, you can't launch 5 ft in the air on the lunge line" talk. He got huffy. I got rope burn.
The great thing about having long legs is being able to save yourself from falling smack on top of a 3'3" oxer after crashing through the fence before. This is what happens when Marley pretends he's a bat. And when I forget that I have a core.
