The Hinges - We’ll Remember
The hardest part is meeting in the middle with letting someone go that you’ve shared so many indescribable moments with to realizing that they aren’t the one for you. You can cherish the memories, when the time comes, be ready to set yourself free.
The Hinges - Absence in Love
Captain Gay
I’ve decided I really like Sheffield. It’s just so friendly compared to a lot of cities we play in. Maybe the theory of the more north you go the more friendly things become is true. It was cool to play with the Hinges again who brought down a lot of mates. We played: She still loves you Boozehounds No good times intended I Admit Defeat The End Polly I Miss you ‘cause it’s Monday Terry Steele It was good to try I miss you ‘cause it’s Monday for the first time as well. There was nearly a hairy moment after the gig when an angry gang of about 20 scousers decided to start throwing pint glasses in the direction of our van shouting in almost comedy fashion that our band are not in fact called “Captain Dangerous” but “Captain Gay” luckily after a brief altercation between Miles, Jock (our friend) and Rick things calmed down following a plant pot being smashed and the threats of glasses being thrown back. They left shouting “Captain Gay” and probably ended up beating up some poor unsuspecting guy with his girlfriend to prove who the real men are. Twats. Anyway it didn’t ruin a good night and was quite funny really. I also witnessed Jock Break dancing. Impressive. After the gig we got pissed with the Hinges and rolled home sometime around 3 I think. Sheffield is such a friendly town. I think we should definitely change our band name to “Captain Gay” Keep an eye out for Myspace we’re getting some gigs confirmed this week. It’s stuff coming up over the next month or so. Will write soon, Adx
