I present to you... the forgotten academy au!! Featuring two of my own ocs, Bitter Plum Cookie and The Headmaster. I'm trying to get more into traditional art again, so any comics or content I make will be sketches

This au is entirely based on the beginning chapters of Crispia with the Forgotten Academy and the Hall of Enlightenment. I wanted a look at the times before the Ancients and pre-corruptions for the Beasts, so yes, this does feature Shadow Milk back when he was the Fount of Knowledge.

This is set in the old Blueberry Yogurt Academy, where Bitter Plum Cookie is a young scholar studying. The Headmaster is one of the main teachers there, a goofy, bubbly entity who knows entirely too much of what's going on. This au will explore the time right before the Beasts corruption, with Bitter Plum investigating the strange rumors and whispers while still trying to keep up his GPA.

I also based the robes off of Witch Hat Atelier, I'm really hoping to go off of those vibes in the manga.

we're supposed to see him as human fucked up and horrific but human. his actions have "reasons" but those reasons are NOT justifying his actions, theyre explaining his mindset;;; we learn about the headmaster, because it explains the complicated relationship atsushi has with his past (the one person he knew, who had authority over him like how a parent might, abused and tortured atsushi, leaving him with complicated feelings because he hates the headmaster, he wants the headmaster to approve of him, he wants to know why the headmaster hates him, he wants to kill the headmaster, he wants answers to his abuse, he wants to know whats wrong with him, the headmaster was the only constant atsushi had) because it shows that the headmaster was not some big evil, he was human, and in his humanity is his evil --- he didn't hurt atsushi because he was some sort of big bad creature who had no understanding of pain love or humanity, he was a human, who knew what his actions were, who knew what he was doing, but chose to do it anyway, because of his own twisted thinking --- he's evil because he's conscious of his actions and he still chooses to do them, he's evil because he's human, and acts inhumane despite that

a character having a sad backstory, a character being dynamic, a character not existing as a flat perception of another character, does not justify their actions, nor does it redeem them. it explains them to us, the readers -- it's gives us an insight to them, it doesn't justify them, it doesn't excuse them, it explains them.

Okay 1 and always 1: harukawa's art is absolute gEORUGOEOUS. the panel of atsushi's death was just ughh chefs kiss. the swish swish of the door to the amenogozen core was wonderful.

2: AKU AND DAZAI'S PAST???? i'm assuming atsushi Saw allat and oughhh that's gonna. that's gonna come back. i also find it interesting that it synced with akutagawa remembering that?

3: we got crumbs of mini atsushi and the director which always has and always will heal my soul.

4: THE HALLUCINATION REVEAL??? holy FUCK genuinely my jaw dropped and i slapped a hand to my face as one does when something is shcoking. my nose still hurts im not even joking i might have caused myself my first nosebleed.

4.5: ohh but it's so interesting!! friend of mine cleared up that it was remnants of Q, but i still find it interesting that it took shape of the headmaster/dazai. i'm assuming this is purely Q and atsushi's brain, but at first i forgor abt Q and thought the headmaster was using an ability. with the way they talk it wasnt that far fetched guys.... but yeah atsushi reconciling(?) with the headmaster enough to get over his ptsd/fear and work together with him to open the door? i think this is him pulling all his strength forward and is symbolism via hallucination rather than it actually helping him but still. very very cool.
