Season four has been making me think a lot about Cole and day of the departed again. He's terrified of being forgotten. In the merge all his friends disappear and he ends up in the Realm of Lost things, where forgotten things end up. He finally finds his friends again, except for Jay. They find Jay and he doesn't know who Cole is. When the specters steal his new family's souls and they become empty shells of course he loses it. Of course he's terrified.

Wyldfire being unapologetically unhinged at all times is everything to me

The dynamic between her and Kai is also everything to me

Actually the dynamics between all the OGs and new ninja are everything to me. They're so soft for those kids

Every second of screentime Jay has in this season is pure gold

On that note the scene at the end of ep10 where Cole and Jay are fighting over the controller is also everything to me

I love how the trailers made it seem like the Whispering Woods dragon was going to guilt Lloyd about missing The Call but as soon as she gets an explanation she turns out to be very reasonable and understanding

Tbh Zane has always been kind of a nothingburger of a character to me, especially in DR, but I'm loving his new optimistic hopecore swag

overall angst enjoyers are FEASTING this season. Cole being imprisoned & beat up. Lloyd in the trial. Probably more that I'm forgetting.

Speaking of Cole being imprisoned love that they're continuing the bit of him talking to himself the second he realizes he's alone. My headcanon is that it started after Lily died and his dad left him alone to go touring to cope with the grief. Going from being a kid with two happy, loving parents to dead mom and neglectful dad it's no wonder he has abandonment issues.

Am I being Very American right now or is Beatrix actually written to parallel the Orangutan in Chief Donald Trump. Unhinged dictator backed by fanatical supporters with incomprehensible reasons for supporting her. Percival's heavy emphasis on democracy. Lloyd in the ending basically saying "Diversity Wins!" I love that the writers were bold enough to put anti-Trump messaging in a Lego cartoon.

Between Sora/Jordana and LaRoe/Beatrix I'm starting to wonder what Imperium puts in the water to create so much toxic yuri.

Beatrix becoming merged with the suit is amazing bodyhorror potential that I probably won't get around to drawing for months but I hope my fellow fanartists have fun with it

I'm obsessed with the way Lloyd's voice and whole demeanor change when he's in dragon form. It's causing me to have thoughts I should not have about a minifigure

Lloyd getting roasted by a version of him that still has a bowl cut is diabolical

Riyu's latest growthspurt had me skeptical at first because it looked a little too anthropomorphic but I got used to it pretty quick and I think it's really well done

The scene in ep9 where Jay's making fun of Frak's fall is so funny to me. His ponytail clipping through the truck makes it exponentially funnier.

I like how the show's handling Sora and Frak dealing with emotionally abusive parents. Very important for kids to learn they don't need to put up with that just because they're family.

Damn this is getting way longer than I thought.

Gi designs this season were peak

The evil staff of whatever felt very out-of-nowhere and there's not much too it outside of being a plot device. There are so many magic relics already in Ninjago can we continue the fanservice of connecting to the old seasons. I think the Realm Crystal and/or Chen's staff with residual elemental power could have worked. Or the scrolls of forbidden spinjitzu, since they're already shown to manipulate elemental power, destabilize elemental power, and control the wielder.

I love the dragon forms I couldn't help but say rawr out loud watching ep 10

I like techtonic and airjitzu shipping in theory but I'm also disappointed that Ninjago's still putting all their main characters in hetero ships that really don't do much for the overall plot. It's not rushed and I like that in both cases the relationships feel really natural but with how increasingly progressive Ninjago's been lately I was hoping we were done with the unnecessary romaces. If the writers want to do romance plotlines, they're already doing a lot of Jaya, a decent amount of Pixane, and geode is very heavily implied.

Two narcissistic, revenge-obsessed snakes, one of them basically a mad scientist (powering nindroids with electric eels) the other hasn’t seen the outside world since the ninjago equivalent of the Iron Age. It’s Krux and Acronix on steroids.

Plus they’d also both be trying to use each other and thinking they secretly have the upper hand. I’m picturing a scene where they both do the foreshadow-betrayal-by-making-evil-faces-behind-their-back thing at once, completely unaware.

So Lloyd is now connected to all living things, especially the Whispering Wood, and we can see in his dragon form that it changes him not just physically, but mentally. His entire voice and speech patterns change to sound like a lord of the rings character.
