my hot take on the DCU Authority discourse is "clearly, if the Engineer is playing henchman to Lex Luthor, it's because she thinks he's the good guy, which tracks pretty well with the Authority as 'anti-hero' (read: somewhere on the spectrum of 90s Anti-Hero to outright villain) jobbers"

James Gunn's Man of Tomorrow is ramping up its villain list by adding one of Superman's scariest villains.
Yeah, Mr Handsome, sure. I'm just surprised that I've somehow missed María Gabriela de Faría's the Engineer is coming back for Man of Tomorrow!!
Hopefully they'll actually include her arc that would otherwise had lead to her being a superhero (considering how the Authority movie's been shelved, Angela being shown to have depth beyond being Lex's stooge in Superman 2025 would be good, even if she did object to Lex potentially killing people in the finale).
Like, in the meta she was apparently meant to be a good person who'd been convinced by Lex's lies about Superman being secretly evil, rather than Angela being a straight villain, but as the film really focused more on her beating up Krypto and trying to drown Clark with her nanites, understandably a lot of folk missed her supposed nuance.
