Another thing that got me thinking; Sansa is described to be blooming and flowering after she gets her period, and Jon is the son of Lyanna Stark, which was associated with a flower, a blue Rose to be more exact. 

Ned about Lyanna, “Beautiful and willful, and dead BEFORE HER TIME.”, Lyanna was so young, and had her entire life ahead of her, meaning she was still growing, changing, becoming more and more beautiful, she was still blooming, and then she saddenly passed away due to child birth. 

Blooming and flowering have double meaning.

Going back to the subtle details that link Sansa and Jon, Sansa being infatuated with Ser Loras, a hansome, valiant, gentle, curly haired knight,

and Jon having a thing for fierce redheads, is another one.

We have Sansa in season 2 speaking up and being compassionate, being the only one brave enough to challange JOFFREY F*ING BARATHEON and say something for Dontos, saving his life, she did it without even thinking about the consequences, she just blurted “You can’t!” out, because that was her first instinct. Jon does the same thing, he’s the only one that feels compassion and is brave enough to go against the order/decision of a “King”, to do the right thing, so he shoots Mance in the heart with an arrow, sparing him from burning alive and giving him a quick and painless death instead. 

And there really are people out there saying, “Jon won’t care she burned the Tarlys alive! It’s war!”, sure Jans, keep telling yourselves that lol He’ll care, since Tyrion even tried to tell her, to reason with her, but unlike Sansa with Joffrey, unlike JOFFREY it didn’t work, SHE DIDN’T LISTEN.

And, since we’re speaking about costumes and their symbolism, we have Sansa in season 6, wearing matching outfits with Jon, the cloaks, Sansa’s with silver and black furr and Jon’s with black and red furr. I mean they straight up look royal and as the script says, majestic.

And this carries on to season 7 (whereas Jon NEVER matched with Dandelion, they looked wrong/off together the whole season/time), where Jon wears the breastplate with the two direwolves, 

and Sansa wears the collar with the two direwolves, and as soon as Jon leaves and she remains alone in Winterfell, she stops wearing it, same thing for her hair, after he leaves she never wears it down like in episode 1 and 2 again. 

Just look at them, they look PERFECT together, NEITHER OF THEM is nor looks out of place.

Sansa’s hair when Jon is around, is down and beautifully frames her face (again I will never get over how breathtaking Sophie looked here, well done to the makeup department, she looked absolutely breathtaking here.

And now look at her hair after he left. (I’ll get back to this in more detail in a bit.)

Back to Sansa’s collar, at first I thought she stopped wearing the collar because she was the only Stark in Winterfell, so what would be the point, but then, you’d expect her to start wearing the direwolves collar again after Bran shows up, right? Since she’s no longer alone, since she no longer is the only Stark in Winterfell, but SHE DOESN’T, not even when Arya shows up, and that is because that collar with the two direwolves on it represents HER and JON.

She wore it, she made it, so she could show the Norhtern Lords, so she could show the North, that they were a strong team together, she wore it to show them that Jon had her full support, but most importantly, she wore it because of Jon, she wore it FOR Jon, she wore it to show JON, all those things I just mentioned, and to show him that they’re in it together, that no matter what she’ll be there all the way to support him, help him and advise him the best she can, to make sure he doesn’t make mistakes and get himself killed like Ned and Robb, because she loves him and the last thing she wants if for him to die as well. She doesn’t want to be left alone in the world, without someone that she knows she can FULLY trust. She knows that what she has with Jon, she will never have with any other man, she’ll never be able to blindly trust anyone, the way she can trust Jon, to never hurt her and use her for her claim.

Part of me also thinks she stopped wearing it, because perhaps she feels abandoned, she feels he abandoned her, “You’re abandoning your people. You’re abandoning your home. (home = Winterfell and thus Sansa, so basically she did say, “You’re abandoning me.”)”, and that’s so heart wrenching. I mean she keeps on wishing he’d hurry up and come home already, you can tell being apart from him is really hard for her, she misses him, she wants her rock to come back home, she wants the man who made her feel strong, safe, happy and loved to come back to her:

“I wish Jon were here.” 

“I hope he comes back soon.”

“I remember how happy he was to see me.”

“Why aren’t you happy? What do you want, that you do not have?” - Maybe Sansa didn’t quite know the answer to Littlefinger’s question when he asked it, but how does that saying go? You don’t realize how much you love/want someone until they’re gone, until you’re apart from them, and you CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT THEM. 

It’s not a “what” that Sansa doesn’t have, that she thinks she can’t have, but a whom, it’s a lover, it’s Jon.

Now, back to the costumes again, unlike Sansa, Jon keeps wearing the direwolves breastplate. Why? Because he’s away from Sansa, from home, from Winterfell, whilst Sansa is there in Winterfell, so she is able to get her strenght and her courage from its walls (we all know Winterfell is not just a simple stone castle, it’s special, it has magic):

“She wondered where this courage had come from, to speak to him so frankly. ‘From Winterfell,’ she thought. ‘I am stronger within the walls of Winterfell.”

But Jon, being away from both of them (Winterfell and Sansa), he has to get his strenght from elsewhere, so he gets it from wearing the direwolves breastplate, direwolves which represent Sansa and him, their love and trust for one another (breastplate which I believe Sansa had made for him speacial, along with her two direwolves that she attached to her collar), he gets his strenght from the cloak that Sansa made for him with her own hands, Jon literally draws his strenght from his home, from SANSA, from the memory of her, I mean cloaks himself in the cloak she made for him, even if he’s really hot in it, because it brings him comfort, it’s as if Sansa has her arms around him, reassuring him and comforting him. 

Sansa and Jon have so much beautiful foreshadowing and symbolism, oh my heart.

And her hair, I told you I’d get back to it, notice how she wore it in a similar fashion as when she was disguised as Alayne, after Jon left? How it was pulled back and braided when she escaped Winterfell,

then she started wearing it down with Jon at Castle Black,

then she braided it again when she went to meet Littlefinger,

and she let it loose again at castle black

and then she braided when they went out to rally men for the BOTB,

and then she started wearing it down again after they got Winterfell back (6x10), and she kept wearing it down, up until Jon left.

As soon as he left, her hairstyle changed again, she wore it pulled back again, because it’s pretty obvious that Jon has become her strenght (and Sansa has become Jon’s), she feels stronger and more confident with him (she takes strenght from Winterfell now, but when she had Jon, she took it from him), as I’ve said, he has become her rock (just like she’s become his), and when he left, he took part of her strenght with him, she didn’t feel quite whole anymore, she didn’t feel as strong, so the hair department made her wear her hair pulled back again to show us just that. 

This is a theme they have going fo her, when she feels confident and strong, she wears her hair down and free, when she doesn’t she wears it pulled back.

Also, we all know Jon gave Sansa his cloak, and literally CLOAKED her,

but then, he starts to wear the cloak he borrowed to Sansa himself even if shortly, because then he replaces it with the one Sansa made for him (with her own hands, with love):

They both wore that cloak, they LITERALLY shared it. It is one of the sweetest and most intimate things to share clothes. This little detail makes my heart sing everytime I think about it and everytime I watch the soup scene and cloak scene. 💙

These past few days I’ve been thinking about something, and I think it’s great way to end this little rambling I went on lol 

Jon and Sansa teaming up brought only good things for both Jon and Sansa and House Stark. Sansa gained so much by going to Jon and reuniting with him, she gained safety and unconditional love, someone to lean on, someone with whom she can be herself without the need of wearing any masks, someone she knows will never harm her nor use her, someting she hasn’t had for five years or so, since Ned’s execution. And Jon, oh boy, by reuniting with her, teaming up with her, Jon literally got all he’s EVER wanted. He got Sansa’s VALIDATION, APPROVAL, LOVE and TRUST, he became what he always dreamed of becoming [(lord of winterfell and warden of the north (only he actually became a King) even if he knew dreaming it was wrong, because all his siblings would have to be dead for his dream to come true)], KING in the North, he gained the RESPECT and LOVE of the NORTHERN people and lords etc. Jon LITERALLY GOT IT ALL (minus the wife and family bit, which is coming in season 8, after he marries Sansa and get’s all he has lost back.).

Now think about Dandelion and Jon “teaming up”… Where Sansa literally GAVE JON EVERYTHING, Dany TOOK IT ALL AWAY from him. 

This made me tear up, once the idea came to mind, because it’s just so SAD. Jon probably thinks that, that’s it, by bending the knee, by giving their home/country, Sansa’s home/country (for which she bled, for which she was raped, tortured and beaten), away to an entitled, power hungry foreign invader (when she WARNED him and BEGGED him not to go), to a southern wannabe Queen, he lost Sansa’s trust, love, validation and acceptance, he lost -HER-. 

He probably thinks their relationship is broken beyond repair now, that the relationship, the understanding, the trust they built and worked on, the love she gave him, is gone. Bear in mind he’s in love with her/he has feeling for her, so just try to imagine how he must feel (I mean Sansa doesn’t hate him, nor resent him, nor is she angry with him, we’ve seen that in the scene with Littlefinger where he teases her about a marriage alliance between Dandelion and Jon, but seeing the communication between Jon and Sansa was almost nonexistent (because Jon was smart enought to realize Varys reads his letters/correspondence), he doesn’t know that, he doesn’t know just how much faith and trust Sansa has in him, just like he doesn’t know of her feelings for him). 

Same thing goes for Sansa, by the way. For all she knows, Jon went to Dragonstone, and she’s having all sorts of Deja Vu’s to Ned’s stupid mistakes (trusting a southern ruler/an invader and her words) and Robb’s stupid mistakes (falling in love with a “foreign whore”) and how they both lost their heads because of them, and more than anything she’s worried that Jon’s “mistakes” are going to get them all killed, himself included. But again, due to not corresponding, Sansa doesn’t know Jon is playing the game, and playing it smart at that, and that his loyalties don’t lie with a squabbling, selfish Queen, but with her, with Arya and Bran and with his people, with the North.

And his people, the Northern lords, he knows they will hate his guts, and that the respect and love they had for him, went out the window, when he gave up the North, his crown/title to her Majesty.

So yeah, all the good things he had, Entitled Tangerine took it away from him. 

So, Sansa raised Jon up, and Dandelion literally stepped on him and on all the good things that he had. Personally I think Jondelion shippers are pretty much only Dandelion stans/fans, because how could you love Jon’s character and want him to end up with D@ny? It’s beyond me lol

So yeah nonny, Sansa flowering in a snowflaked dress is Jonsa foreshadowing alright.
