In music theory, the tritone is an interval of three whole steps that can sound unresolved and creepy. Over time, the sound has wound up in jazz, rock and even Broadway musicals.
Ah yes, NPR bringing that spooky realness. Ever wonder why some songs just oooze with spoop? That’d be tritones. Once you realize what they are, you’ll begin to notice them more and more.
I love incorporating music and dance into my craft. What better way than with tritones.
Bonus points if they can somehow incorporate lamentation, strings and eerie vocals.
