When they first met, everything was finally set into motion. Lucifer’s presence put every piece of the puzzle Sam had tried to solve for years into the right spot. The darkness inside of him, the darkness he fought ever since he could remember, now devoured him and he felt a power that had been sealed away before - a power so strong that he was unable to speak when he first felt it.
Sam felt a huge relief when Lucifer revealed to him that this was his fate, that all the lies he had been told throughout his life only had the goal to prevent them from meeting. All those years he hid behind anger and scared people away with his appearance - all the torture he had put himself through again and again - became meaningless in this very moment. Every time he had prayed in his life it had been heard, no matter how small it was, and now Lucifer finally answered those prayers.
Every breath alone now made him feel free and nothing else came close to this - it was a rush of adrenaline and clarity that finally opened his eyes for the truth. Yes, there was a darkness in him and it was meant to be there. Because he was the other half of the Morningstar - Lucifer’s light and his own darkness combined were able to shake the earth and break hell loose if they wanted to.
Together, they were unstoppable.
