18 Years Later, Lost’s Best Episode Is Still Peak Television
Lost's best episode redefined TV's limits.
It’s about “The Constant.” Duh.
From Prime Video’s sci-fi series The Expanse to HBO’s Game of Thrones, TV has embraced a far more ambitious and complex narrative style in the 22 years since Lost debuted. Without episodes like “The Constant,” the complex, immersive storytelling of more recent shows like Foundation, Silo, Severance, Fallout, and Altered Carbon wouldn’t be possible. Even the Monsterverse’s small-screen spinoff Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has two converging timelines, something that has become commonplace on TV since 2008.
