apologies if this has been answered before but if john was on tm do you think he’d be better than andy?
Ooooh no I have not answered this, and this is a good question.
I am torn. On one hand, apparently John was crazy competitive last night, and his entire career can be summed up as "using lateral thinking to infuriate your enemies".
On the other hand, John also gets super distracted if you bring up one of his special interests (dictators doing dumb things, horses, LMFAO) and I could see him one hundred percent having a nervous breakdown over having to, I dunno, make a crayon drawing of Greg while hanging upside down in ten minutes.
Mr. Lee also firmly believes John hasn't been on Taskmaster because, direct quote, "he would murder Alex". I kind of get where he's coming from even if I can't totally place why. Alex, unlike Andy, would be within strangling distance of John if he started a pun run. That could make John a very easy first place contender. (/j)
Mulling it over, I think John would perform well, and I think is well capable of matching Andy. Depends on who he's up against.
Quiet new years in with The Wife* and a vat of cheese sauce for dipping nibblies in
*that's cricket statistician and stand up comedian Andy Zaltzman and my beloved wife
I love whenever Andy Zaltzman has Nish Kumar on the Bugle, and I think Andy enjoys having him on as a cohost too, because Nish genuinely loves what Andy does.
I know he was a Bugle listener and fan first well before he became a cohost, but that man is genuinely a fan of the Bugle and of Andy Zaltzman's outlandish extempore comedy monologues (affectionate). He might be the closest a Bugle cohost has come to tolaterating—maybe even enjoying—a pun run.
He listens to Andy's ramblings and has such a blast listening to them, it almost works to remind you how absurd Andy's monologues are, makes you wonder how on earth he keeps coming up with this stuff and where he brings it from, I think with the sheer volume of bullshit Andy throws out at breakneck speed, it sometimes takes an appreciative Nish Kumar marvelling at Andy's artisanal bullshit to realise and relish the work Andy does.
And my god, it makes the Bugle ten times more enjoyable for me. So definitely, Nish is in my top 2 Bugle cohosts who aren't Andy and John Oliver aka relaunch era Bugle. I love the joy Nish gets from hosting the podcast because clearly he is simply a fan who happens to be seated inside the podcast. Good for him.

I should be watching LWT and refilling my queue
So, naturally, I instead drew John and Andy as Umamusume. You're welcome.
