Oh so Becky knows TJ knows she’s Wordgirl? Is that something she finds out at the beginning of the story or is this something that happens in the time jump?
It's something that happens in the time jump, like a few months before the start of the AU (so when Becky's still in junior year/before summer starts). But don't worry, things that happened in the time jump do get some flashbacks/very obvious indication of the aftermath. And this is one of them, like not a full-on backstory on how it happened, but there's clues enough to see a clear picture.
I made a new au where another villain adopts Becky,,,GRANNY MAY CUZ YES
The whole au is like since granny may raised Becky, Becky became a little scam artist so she's always up to smth lmao AND YES THE BOTSFORDS ARE INVOLVED UNLIKE WHEN I DONT SEE THEM IN 2BRAINS AUS /hj
Sally is constantly trying to get Becky to stop pickpocketing, and they have like a mother/daughter relationship still but like a really distant one (granny may is, yknow, a grandma figure) Working on Tim and TJ for the au but trust me guys it's gonna be great
Literally the whole reason this au exists is cuz I had an epiphany at 11:30pm

Can you talk about Becky and TJs relationship in your AU? Also TJs relationship with M.A.R.U.? I’m very excited!
YAY, thank you for the ask!!! Im pumped! And of course I can talk about it. This AU consumes me.
Becky and TJ’s relationship in the AU, at least at the start, is stronger than it's been but also the weakest. Long gone are the petty squabbles, but there is an underlying issue with their relationship anyway. They do care and love each other very much, both willing to do anything for the other despite the bumps, and they understand each other better. Yet there is the issue of Becky's secret identity as Wordgirl, which TJ figured out already by the time this AU starts and he's still processing everything. He's not mad at her, but he's not overjoyed. And it isn't because his idol turned out to be his dorky sister. He's not a bratty kid anymore. But it's on how it affects a lot of other things he's felt before. Like his insecurity on not being that special compared to her (great, she's a freaking super hero) and her tendency to keep him and the rest of the family in the dark. He's grappling with how his sister has been absent most of their childhood because of being Wordgirl, and he's not blaming her, of course not. He just feels useless and slightly resentful about that. And it's why he's trying to see what he is beyond being her fan for most of his youth. Could he actually do more as her brother?
Becky knows TJ is working through it, but she can't help but feel guilty or that even him knowing is a mistake, since it's obvious he's not the same around her anymore. Yes, he finally sympathezues with her, and she can actually start to forge a better relationship, but the hurdles are big hurdles. They are still angsty teenagers, after all.
And for TJ and M.A.R.U oooh. Not to give too much away--since this entire dynamic is something that I really do want to execute one day at its most effective. The bio on M.A.R.U, TJ, is one of the most important characters in her story and vice versa. They both are very essential to their character arcs and development. For TJ, it's interesting for him to encounter a younger robotic "duplicate" of his sister's biological mom (which he actually doesn’t know about that) and to see struggles he's never known before and overall for him to mature more as he gains this younger ally to look after. TJ basically gains a sidekick. A real one, that wasn't his best friend Johnson just going along with whatever be he was crushing lol.
Headcanons for Sally's family?
Ooh, kinda?
I haven't explored her side of the family yet, but I do think I can work with it more since I have it in headcanons that her family is prominently Hispanic so that means I can put down some more concrete lore.
Sally's full name before she took the Botsford name was Sally Isabelle Lopez. Her parents are from Mexico, more northern. They moved to Fair City around the late 50s when they were expecting Sally and also because they already had family there. Sally grew up relatively happy and supported by her parents, being a go-getter organized girl from the start (a lot like Becky). She honed herself to accomplish a lot since the rest of her family were wilder. Kind of dubbing her the mojigata of the cousins, which she did get made fun of for by the rest of them. One of her cousins was jealous of her though, since being the oldest (and in culture the one whom the family depended on since he's the boy), he was sidelined in favor of Sally since she was so reliable. This, in turn, made her older cousin very sour about her and kind of demeaning to a probably misogynistic way. Sally didn't pick up on it during their childhood since she just thought he was a tough older teen and by her sweet nature, but in adulthood, it does explain why she doesn't seem that much. He's avoided her because of that resentment.
She does have a good relationship with her other cousins, even if they are very chaotic and irresponsible. Those cousins don't live in Fair City. They moved back to Mexico with their parents after some extreme family drama with abuela and her huge inheritance. But of course they visit Sally when they can. Sally, when she was younger, was a straight-laced girl, but she didn't have her typical Sally bubbly social charisma yet. She was actually a shy kid/teen, but her cousins helped a lot with getting her to be more crazy and loose. Taking Sally out to parties or just hanging out.
Her parents are nice folk. They both worked, with Sally's mother being an artist and her dad a defense attorney. Both of their professions ignited her passions in life, but of course, Sally wanted to try more of the lawyer thing and eventually prosecution since she harbors a justice within herself. For most of her life until she left for college, Sally didn't assume anything was weird between her parents martially until news of their divorce reached her. Apparently, despite how happy and cheerful they seemed to her, they actually fell out of love since Sally was little and have secretly been at odds. This shocking news and change is what led Sally at the time to reject Tim's proposals when they were young adults, of course also because she wanted to focus on her career, but then this fear of the most perfect marriage she's known being a facade all her life made them prolong their marriage for a while.
Um, for the names of her parents, let's go with:
-Carmen Isabelle Lopez (Grandma/Abuela Carmen)
-Eduardo R. Lopez [divorced, is now Eduardo R. Lobo]
Carmen lives in Fair City since Sally mentioned visiting grandma's in "Accordian to Tradition", and I don't think it's that far a trip, while Eduardo is probably enjoying retirement in Mexico with his side of the family or traveling.
How would you describe TJohnson at the start of future A.U?
TJ being such an idiot that Johnson gets serious. Johnson. That Johnson Gets serious. And they both are having the most confusing falling out in all teenage history.
