surprise starter for @th-dusky // urbia
It wasn’t often that Aurelia found herself in Solitas as an adult, and rarer still in Mantle.
The city’s cold had a way of settling into her bones, the kind of chill that felt less like weather and more like a warning. Smoke curled from the industrial stacks, staining the pale sky, and the hum of machinery never truly stopped. It was not her world. Not her culture, not her climate, not her people.
But this was not a visit born of comfort. This was a visit born of necessity. And when necessity called, Aurelia preferred the best. Which was precisely why she’d sought out Urbia.
There were few advocates sharper, fewer still who understood how to turn a grievance into a weapon and Urbia, conveniently, possessed her own…complicated history with the Krome family. That alone made her worth crossing half the continent for.
Aurelia folded her gloved hands neatly before her, posture impeccable, though her expression held a rare note of seriousness beneath the polished calm.
“Listen,” she began, her voice measured, diplomatic but direct, “I know your business operates in a....different sector these days.” A small pause — respectful, but not hesitant. “However… I was hoping I might still be able to procure your services. Just this once.”
Her gaze held steady, already calculating the angles of the conversation before it could even begin.
“But before anything, I need to know,” she continued, more quietly now, “are you familiar with Mistrali inheritance law, perchance?”
