His first reaction when he heard someone at their door was one of disbelief - who would come through such a bad storm at their place? Any sane person would stay indoors until it had passed. His parents had left earlier that day to go to some conference and they had booked a hotel so he didn't expect them to return tonight.
His second reaction was surprise, when he found Kass at his doorstep who was soaked until the bone. "Sure come on in," Elio says automatically while motioning for her to come inside. "Just stay here for one second."
Without another word he vanishes for a few minutes only to return with a massive towel that he offers her. "Here, Mafalda will not be pleased if she founds out you drenched the entire place." He explains with a sheepish smile on his face. "She's our housekeeper and cook but that's not important. Let's get you inside first. You'll warm up quick before the fireplace and of course, I don't mind if you stay. We got plenty of spare bedrooms."
Motioning to her to follow him he adds, "It tends to happen during thunderstorms that the electricity falls out around here but it will be fixed."
