Chase hadn’t been feeling the best lately. He just felt sad and he wasn’t sure why. Maybe he was broken, maybe the white suits messed up his brain somehow. But he just didn’t feel like getting up most days. He just wanted to sleep in the sunlight.

He was napping one day when he heard a soft thud behind him. He turned over, ready to snap at the brother that was trying to wake him, only to come face to face with a juicy reginald fish. He blinked then looked up to see Jack grinning down at him.

“Mornin’ sleeping beauty,” He laughed, settling down next to Chase. Chase pushed himself up and eyed the fish, as he rubbed sleep out of his eyes.

“What’s this for?” Chase asks, stretching. Jack shuffles and scratches his head.

“Well we all noticed you were feeling down lately, but we didn’t know how to help…. Since you’re usually the one to help us. I figured you just needed some good food and company!” Jack smiled softly as he grabbed the bag on his shoulder and dumped it on the floor. Acid shrooms rolled onto the cave floor and Chase’s mouth watered. He hadn’t been eating much lately.

“What? How did you get these?”

Jack grinned and leaned back, “Everyone helped pitch in! Anti and Jackie caught the Reginald and Jamie and Schneep helped get the shrooms! Marvin managed to warp them into a bag so we wouldn't have to touch them and get sick!”

Chase felt tears well up in his eyes.

“You guys did all of this for me?”

Jack smiled softly and pulled Chase in for a hug, “Of course we did. You’re our big brother, we hate seeing you being so sad. And us biggest brothers gotta stick together, okay?”

Chase wiped his nose and hugged Jack back tightly He nodded and leaned his head on Jack’s shoulder, feeling warm for the first time in a while.

“Okay… I’m sorry..”

“Don’t apologize bro, we’re here for you whenever! Now dig in! Before Jackie tries to eat these all himself!”

Chase laughed and quickly dug into the mini feast, feeling the weight on his mind lift and float away. Him and Jack laughed and talked for what felt like hours, until all the other brothers came back and tackled hugged Chase into the ground. Chase couldn’t breathe because he was laughing so hard.

He knew now he had to try harder to be happy for his brothers. Sadness may come, but his brothers were his world, and he would always be there for them.
