Dustin's behavior this season just goes to show that they don't just write a sudden shift in behavior for no reason meaning Mike's behavior in s3 was because of something. Not because he's just an asshole. Something drastic happened that shattered his reality. For Dustin it was the death of a very close friend. For Mike, the sudden realization of feelings or the need to present "normal" to "blend in". To conform.
Mhm!! That's why I think he started questioning his feelings/sexuality after s2 (snowball) and everything he considered normal was suddenly not anymore so he had to reevaluate everything and well he knew what "normal" was supposed to be so he drove full force into trying to achieve that
Also I bet mike's suffering from unaddressed ptsd too
