When you're laying next to someone and you're staring at them for just a little bit too long. They catch you and they ask, "What?" Not angrily, more like a "what do you need to say?" And you want to tell them that there's something special about them. Something that has made you more comfortable and more goofy around them each and every day. They have that something that makes you want to spend large amounts of time with them and joke about stupid shit. It makes you want to kiss them longingly and lovingly and it makes you want to hug them for at least two seconds over the appropriate amount of time spent on a hug. It makes you want to be the big spoon. It makes you want to protect them from whatever harm may come their way and you want to make everything happen in favor of them. It makes you drop your studies and pick up the phone call. It makes you smile when they send you that cliche "good morning" text and then go on to explain how cliche it is. It makes you want to send them those cliche "good morning" texts. It makes you want to lie down in their backseat while they drive and then call them to tell them that you love who they are as a person. It makes you want to make a mixed tape specifically for them. It makes you comfortable enough to sleep around them even though you know that you snore and maybe sometimes you drool a little bit. It makes you want to open your eyes and have the first thing you see, be that person. It makes you want to watch scary movies or go out in the cold so that you have a reason to snuggle up beside them. It makes you want to link pinkies with them while you're walking and dare people to say something. It makes you want to tell them that they're amazing for no reason. It makes you want to whisper loving things into their ear. It makes you want to take care of them when their sick. It makes you "forget" that you're wearing something that belongs to them and you "accidentally" take it home and you wear it all the time because it smells like that person. It makes everything okay when they steal the blankets and the pillow you're lying on. They just have that certain something that makes you want to figure out what that certain something is. But then again, you might not because it might frighten you a little bit. They may remind you of someone that you used to love. So, instead of telling them what you're really thinking, you just smile. You smile so big that it confuses them and then reach out a hand to fix their hair. Because that certain something says it's okay to do that.
