Remember
19 Years ago today at noon my father walk through the door after 7 months on a UN mission in Croatia/ Yugoslavia. I was 17, we had seen him for two weeks out of that 7 months when he was allowed home for a visit. It was an emotional day then, and to this day today reminds emotional. Â I was one of the lucky Army kids, my father came home to us in one piece, emotionally, mentally and physically. No matter what mission or security detail or assignment he was sent on, he never missed Christmas and he is an amazing man.Â
Today, Â bow your head for a moment, say a silent thank you to all those who sacrificed so much, and in many cases gave everything.
Remember the families that served along with them, remember the person behind the uniform, know the person behind the uniform.Â
I wear my Poppy, the red one, the only one, from Nov 1st to midnight tonight and light a candle before my minute of silence and let that candle burn for as long as it will.Â
