I think that the tragedy of loving a certain dynamic in Transformers (be platonic, romantic or even rivalry) is that sometimes you like them because of the context the canon and how it shapes it's relationship and is unlikely to get this dynamic twice unless, the writer is trying.
Like, Misfire and Grimlock friendship is something that is sadly very unlikely to be explored again, Misfire is a c-list character thats gonna be rare to bring back, then how rare is for con-bots friendships be written in TF canon, and even if they did, their friendship happened for unique things that happened in IDW.
And obviously this is true for most dynamics that aren't Elite and OP having het moments 😔.
