Yes, Starscream has done bad things and has hurt people but MEGATRON HAS DONE THAT WITHOUT BEING PROVOKED AND NEVER ACTUALLY FELT BAD FOR IT.
Starscream often tries to kill Megatron because he's sick and tired of the abuse that's happening to him not to mention MEGATRON IS A TERRIBLE LEADER WHO DRAGS THE CONS INTO THE SHITTER EVERY CHANCE HE GETS.
Starscream is trying to save the cons if anything. Is he selfish? Of fucking course he is, but that's not always a bad thing. There are so many reasons why Starscream is doomed to not be the leader of the cons but that's not because he would be a shit leader, as a matter of fact he would be a better leader than Megatron.
The only reason why Starscream wouldn't last as a leader is not because of him alone, it's because the other cons still run on Megatron’s cult mindset and hivemind and will bitch and moan about how Megatron did things. They won't even allow Starscream to breath or prove himself because they're so up their ass about Megatron’s leadership not realizing it was always trash and he was a tyrannical egomaniac who belittled Starscream any chance he got and villainized him for not blindly following him anymore.
Then there are times like in All Hail Starscream, where they will literally waste resources to REVIVE MEGATRON. They won't let the fucker die because he convinced them he's the only qualified leader when he is the most UNQUALIFIED PIECE OF SHIT LEADER YOU COULD POSSIBLY HAVE. Meanwhile everyone else is eating each other due to fucking starvation.

Meanwhile you have Starscream, a qualified scientist and very smart individual who's just thrown into second in command to become a punching bag while Shockwave, a literal unqualified pseudoscientist who in most continuities used to be a POLITICIAN, is the guy running things that's science related….Why the fuck do you think all his experiments are botched or are just bat shit crazy??? He runs on logic, not knowledge, no one said his logic made sense.
Shockwave has no actual clue what he is doing and only thinks he knows because he runs on logic. What kind of logic makes someone throw whales in a blender for energy, or take the body parts of someone’s workmates to repair that person instead of just building new parts that will work for them, instead of putting pieces together that don't fit and make the patient fucking disabled for life.
And in that same continuity he had the fucking NERVE to say Seekers have “Low Intelligence” all because Slipstream made a fucking mistake that was mostly out of her control. That's the most pseudoscience eugenicist projection BS I have ever heard come from a character.
Soundwave is the only one who's qualified to be in the position he's in and is actually fucking smart unlike Shockwave.
Starscream is overqualified and is actually fucking intillegent but is thrown into a role his credentials don't line up with because Megatron doesn't know what the fuck he is doing.
Going back to the All Hail Starscream comic, when Megatron’s bucket head having ass was brought back, the first thing he does is insult and belittle Statscream. Then he drives Starscream to the point he wanted Megatron to KILL HIM. And Megatron didn't like that because that means Starscream isn't submitting to him and is trying to make his own choices which in Megatron’s little mind is not allowed.

Let's not forget how any time Starscream even makes a valid POINT in a conversation Megatron insults him, shoots him, or beats him. And doesn't even bother to listen to what this literal scientist has to say about scientific topics.
Megatron is the most abusive dumbass in this franchise, and I'm sick and tired of people defending him and acting like Starscream is the bigger issue when Megatron will and always has been the bigger issue.
This is why I am so glad Starscream just fucking left the cons in Cyberworld and went to mind his own damn business. He was DONE with Megatron’s shit and doesn't give a damn about what he has to say.
I shouldn't have to go through every continuity to explain why Starscream is NOT an abuser of Megatron. There is a very likely chance Starscream would end up putting the cycle on someone else but luckily that shit would be stopped IMMEADIATELY.

And this time it will explain how each is a victim in their story, and how bad those Megatrons are as his abusers.
If Megatron, the guy who started everything and is literally one of the worst people in Transformers, can get a half assed sometimes well written Redemption arc.

Don't pull this bullshit that Starscream will never change, its Megatron who will never change, Starscream has a chance to change, he just needs to be given that chance.
Which a lot of people don't want him to have for some fucking reason but will willingly give it to Megatron and act like he's the victim when he's the total OPPOSITE.
