Sierra nevada - Colombia 🇨🇴
Road to the lost city
La Ciudad Perdida (The Lost City) or Teyuna, Sierra Nevada, Colombia. This incredible and ancient indigenous city consists of 169 terraces and plazas connected by tiled roads and trails, hidden in the dense jungle of the Sierra Nevada mountains in what was once the heart of the indigenous society. Inhabited for thousands of years by local groups (Wiwas, Koguis, Arhuaco), the area was discovered by the Spanish in the 1970s and, after years of looting, was sequently rebuilt and safeguarded. Incredibly for them, the indigenous still own and control this land and visitation rights, meaning the thousands of ruins dotting the surrounding mountainsides will remain shrouded in archaeological mystery with no plans for further development.

Un antiguo pueblo indígena que habitaba en los departamentos colombianos de Magdalena, Guajira y Cesar, en las faldas de la…
