Donna Jones

Born to a Muggle-born mother and a careless, pureblood father, Donna has always been fiercely independent and fiercely critical of others. She distrusts almost all purebloods, even those that don’t hold elitist views, because of her own family history.

At Hogwarts, she quickly appoints herself the guide of her dormmate Lily Evans, as Donna was raised equally in the wizarding and Muggle worlds, and easily understood her new friend’s curiosity and excitement.

Donna’s dislike of all purebloods didn’t make her the most popular, even in Gryffindor. She had a particular dislike and rivalry with Sirius Black, as she didn’t enjoy his pranks or his pureblood family, even if Sirius didn’t affiliate himself with them.

When she was 15, her younger sister was born. Unfortunately, it was with her deadbeat father. While Donna loved and looked after her younger sister, it drove a rift between her and her mother, as Donna couldn’t understand why she would keep going back to that scum of a man.

As a result, Donna’s dating advice for girls with dating trouble is usually “dump him,” even for minor arguments. She also doesn’t see the need to date for herself, instead throwing herself into academics, and later, her career as a lawyer for the Ministry of Magic.

Donna is one of those people who are just gifted academically. There’s not really any class she’s bad at--just ones she’s not as good at. But she always loved classes like Transfiguration or Charms, classes that had a lot of theoretical concepts she could study. She wasn’t terrible at Herbology, but the more practical nature of the class didn’t appeal to her.
