Tried to go to fncbook.com on mobile because it’s the textbook for my computational physics class, and it went to Facebook. Didn’t even autocorrect.
Tried again, noticed that the spelling wasn’t auto-changed, but there was a blue “facebook.com” next to it, indicating that was where it would resolve. Backspaced to “suppress” the blue resolving thing, but it still went to Facebook.
Had to google “fncbook textbook” so I could click on the actual link to my real textbook from the Google search results.
I’m sure there’s a case to be made for this autocorrect-like functionality in the form of internet safety, so that misspellings of commonly-visited websites doesn’t send you somewhere malicious, but it was frustrating.
