Spider-Man 2002 test screenings <3

I want to make a post about focus groups in Hollywood and how influential test audiences have been and continue to be on film and television. But public relations professionals, along with members of the press, are typically prohibited from participating in these kind of screenings. I don't have a ton of first hand experience.
HOWEVER, long before PR was even a twinkle in my eye, I was in a test audience for the pilot episode of LAGUNA BEACH: THE REAL ORANGE COUNTY. I do not remember a single question we were asked (apparently, a lot of us thought it was terrible) or anything that might have been changed prior to airing. I do remember that I earned a $10 Starbucks gift card for participating. (I was like 14, and I got PAID to WATCH TV with FRAPPUCCINOS!!!!!! Been chasing that high ever since. 😮💨) 🌞
Anyway, if any one has any test audience experiences to share, I am all ears! Were you paid? In money? Did you sign up or were you recruited?

Spellbound (1945) afforded Gregory Peck the opportunity to work with film greats Alfred Hitchcock, David Selznick and Ingrid Bergman. Though he had made just three prior films, Peck was already a screen idol. Following one of Spellbound’s early screenings, Selznick wrote in a memo, “We could not keep the audience quiet from the time his name first came on screen until we had shushed them though three or four sequences and stopped all the dames from ‘ohing’ and ‘ahing’ and gurgling.”
