Seit gestern gehen Leser-Hinweise auf verschlüsselte Dateien mit der Endung .mp3 in der Redaktion ein. Die scheint eine neue Variante des Verschlüsselungs-Trojaners TeslaCrypt zu erzeugen.

This is the other side of the encryption battle.

But let me note, even if the government wins the iPhone battle, this will still be a major issue.  I don’t know how many times people have said it, but the government doesn’t seem to really be listening:  criminals are smart, there are programmer criminals too, and if you crack one encryption type (or build a way around it) criminals will just switch to a different set of programs where the law can’t compel some company to give them a key.
