But he’s turning his head back to look because he’s worried for her safety.
“Yes, go. Be safe,” Goodsir tells her.

“I’ll talk to the men, and make it safe for you.

“I wish you could come to our land of my white people [England] so that you may see.
“It’s not like we are here. People there are good, they are good—”
But Silna informs him she thinks he is good here.
“A cause of offense. [I’m sorry].”
She smiles at Goodsir.
Lowering her chin as she smiles, his friend cuts them both off when she leaves into the fog.
And then he hangs his head in sorrow without watching her because he greatly misses she who has gone.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: I have corrected line 9 from Niġġiuqsruumagikput “We(pl.) owe them(sg.)” to Niġġiuqsruumagivsigiñ “We(pl.) owe you(sg.),” as well as changed the intransitive indicative Piruŋa “I do” into the transitive indicative Pigikpiñ “I do [Verb] you(sg.)” because, upon second look and given the failure of my memory as to whether I checked that verb with my professor, the MacLean dictionary only lists pI- as transitive. Any remaining mistakes are also my own!
