I think it’s possible, it’s just that some people are more mature about handling it than others. And it’s unfortunate that you’ve had to deal with several of said “others”
Yeah...y'know I'd usually call myself a pessimist but I know I'm really a stupid bleeding heart optimist. :T
One of the things my therapist said to me after talking about ~the first time~ was that I should at least feel good about being more emotionally mature. Or at least being mature enough to know when to agree to disagree and/or concede a debate in order to avoid further conflict.
It probably doesn't help that I keep a lot of things to myself, though. She was very surprised to hear things I'd never told anyone, stunned that I'd dealt with certain shit all by myself.
Honestly I don't quite see the point in breaking friendships off like that; what's the good in only being friends with people who agree with you 100% of the time? bleeeeh i'm so darn tired :C
