We're very happy to say that the wonderful guys over at (www.teriyeri.com) have recently updated the interactive mapping system our software uses. They have kindly improved the method we use to load data onto the map.

Originally we used to have to click a button and wait for the map to load absolutely everything, and let me tell you that on Caladria that can take quite a few minutes. At last reckoning we had something like 5 continents, around 120 continentalAreas, 2,800 regions, over 200 seas, 20 odd mountain ranges (not including the individual mountains), and well over 400 rivers.

The new system allows us to choose the types of data we want to load so that we can get at just what we want when we want it.

the world-building framework includes a quick-start system, that helps you plan out exactly what kind of world you’re building, and how the engine should view it, interact with it, and make decisions about it. 

While perhaps we should have been sleeping, playing sports or not making stupid bets with housemates on the Packers Seahawks game, our weekend was spent creating a fancy-pants new knowledgebase plugin for our system. 

TeriYeri infisyns can now install this and populate it with loads of questions they think their customers will be asking. Not a new idea by any stretch of the imagination, but something we felt was sorely lacking within the framework.

We hope it makes communicating with your customers and users that much easier.

We’ve been grappling all day with the .mobi ebook format and we’re happy to say we absolutely hate it! Nonetheless, with a 60% market share of the ebook industry (maybe more) Amazon Kindle needs at least .mobi (if not KF8), so we’ve got it working. 

If you’re running one of our infisyns you’ll soon be able to offer your customers the opportunity to download/email their purchases in .mobi format as well as .epub (2 & 3). 

With the huge array of conversion tools available out there both online and off, we’re not going to be pushing hard to improve the appearance and styling of the .mobi versions of downloads, but they are nonetheless available.

Our first infisyn (Caladria), is now using TeriYeri engine v1.0.7! Some new developments include the following:

eCommerce Store

That’s right, the system comes with its very own commerce store, primed for the sale of digitial goods (but capable of handling physical items as well). This comes with a built-in PayPal integration so you can sell your eBooks directly from your site.

Accounting System

A very basic accounting system makes its appearance. Team members all receive a site bank account, which the system makes deposits and withdrawals from when sales or refunds happen in the store. 

Users can then request a withdrawal themselves, and the system (after confirmation from Admins) will automatically pay into their paypal account.

Library

Sales in the store don’t just automatically send your customer an eBook (that’s so 90s!). We store (no pun intended) a copy of the store product in the library for the customer, and allow them to download when they want and in which format they want. Not only that, but it’s tailored to them personally!

Want more? Ok, how about being able to read the books on-site using our special eBook reading platform, which hooks into the WikiPages & Mapping System to give a truly immersive interaction. Why not right. So we are throwing that into the next big update!

Other Fixes & Bugs

A new Followers plugin has appeared, allowing users to follow each other. The results of which now appear in the follower’s activity stream a la social media sites.

Your authors can now start to feel proud of their followings on your site. It could certainly help boost sales of products they are involved in, and gives them a huge bonus on their CV if looking to work on other TY-managed sites as well.

There’s a whole changelog of stuff that’s gone into v1.0.7, but that’s boring tech stuff. Needless to say, this version is the most modern, powerful and flexible out there.

The settings view for a publication from the upcoming ePublisher plugin by teriyeri. The publisher can control all kinds of nifty things to make his/her life easier.
