😨
Alright. So. When @thejonlennon and I were making our way back up to Eugene from the 10 Year SPG Anniversary Show, we got lost. How lost? Several hours out of our way. We ended up on the outskirts of Lake Tahoe. We have souvenir sheriff’s badges to prove it.
We stopped at a gas station for some hot cup o’ noodles and directions (and said sheriff’s badges) and started heading in the right direction.
I’m not sure what time it was when we decided to stop again. It was dark. We found a scenic lookout, that was just an inky expanse off of the edge of an icy cliff. We could mostly make out our surroundings, though, so we got out and meandered around, stretching our legs and probably throwing snowballs or something? IDK. What I mostly remember is turning around to look into the dark, dark woods.
I could make out a faint, low movement. Almost a swaying or bobbing near the ground. Naturally, I assumed it was goblins that wanted us to leave. I mean, obviously.
“I see something. We need to get to the car. Now.” And we did. Or, as “now” as the icy parking lot would allow.
Admittedly, it was probably just bushes swaying in the wind. I kind of knew that in the moment. But I also wasn’t going to wait around and find out that it wasn’t bushes.
We needed to get going anyway. We still had a long drive ahead of us.
