             even the darkest night will end, and the sun will rise again, so the maxim goes. thus, the denouement of a dark calamity has passed, and with it, the misery of shiga, the town’s recovery fostered by the light of the reclaimed sun; of both the bright light that shines above them, and the bright eyed man next to him, beaming so widely, so irritatingly despite being paralyzed from the waist down. yet, his atrophy still had his body in its clutches, and it would soon take that smile as well, just as the dusk consumes the day and the darkness descends yet again. everything passes, but even abe-no-sousei must admit that he enjoys the light, the feeling of peace that smile gives him. and so, he decides to indulge in the tranquility whilst he still can, deciding to give him a smile of his own.
