10 Things I Love about Spiderman: A Brand New Day (in no particular order)!
(Spoilers, obviously)
1. Frank and Peter had great banter! I loved their back and forth: constantly referencing Staten Island, Frank calling Peter a ‘motherfucker’ and Peter calling Frank ‘a jerk.’ Really fun parallel.
2. Specifically the moment when Frank and Peter are at the boat and try to get MJ to side with them about the Staten Island incident lmao! Her deadpan delivery of ‘idc I want to go home’ was great.
3. Sadie Sink. Just…damn! She did a good job!
4. The reveal that V-Max was just the vent was chilling. I was astounded by how cool that reveal was!
5. I thought the image of everyone wanting Spiderman to get healthy again was cute, especially after everything he went through in the last movie. Super bittersweet too, because he ofc said ‘I can become both,’ both even now, he’s loving the reality of being a faceless hero!
6. The subconscious familiarity MJ had with Peter was pretty plain to see in that one scene with the curtain and I thought it was interesting! Like she might not have her memories of him, but the ease with which she talked with him definitely suggested a history she was not aware of.
7. The possessed across the board did a really good job of mimicking the same habits again and again! Like, I felt as if they were the same person body hopping!
8. The dog being caught on the other side of the barrier was really cool! Idk, just a cool visual effect.
9. Spider-Man’s metamorphosis was cool the whole way through, and the black eyes were a nice touch! I loved when he lost control and we saw the cop get hurt; it showed how dangerous he really could be.
10. Tom Holland did fear really well in this movie. Specifically the scene when Hulk was beating him up? The vocal performance was really striking!
