I don’t have any tattoos but I have thought about getting some, or one. But for now, these temporary ones will have to do. I sort of like putting them on my inside wrist (is that’s what it’s called?) because then I feel like it would be more for me than everyone else. My problem is I’m a bit flighty, capricious, impetuous, volatile, frivolous, whimsical, unstable, silly, loose cannon-y, impulsive, wishy-washy, and even a little moody at times so it’s hard to pin down what I want to say about myself. So for now I guess I’ll stick with tattoos that last three days... I guess temp tattoos are on my mind because I’m trying to finish a middle grade novel that is (ahem) overdue about a kid who is a temporary tattoo artist. I wrote the entire book but I couldn’t turn it in to my editor because it wasn’t right. It was lacking something. It was kinda just blah. My first middle grade novels (Elvis and the Underdogs) had a lot of heart and a strong message about the importance of finding “your pack” (of friends) while the book I wrote (280 manuscript pages) just sort of said not much of anything. Anyway, I believe I figured out a fix... and I’m gonna have lots of time traveling for the holidays so we’ll see what I can do. Writing is sometimes easy and fun, but most of the time it is hard and makes you want to bang your head against a wall.
