I saw a discussion about Bill's temptation bubble and it made me think about it; Who took control of the bubble once it was created by Bill?
From the conversation, I understand that Bill took a degree of control as a watcher, and Mabeland worked based on Mabel's subconscious, especially when it was mentioned that it "gives her something even before she knew what she wanted". So, I guess both Bill and Mabel took control of the bubble to a point, as well as the bubble has a degree of autonomy to operate.
The conversation also had Fake Wendy to discuss altogether; How she was created through Mabeland? Dipper found she felt rather off at one point, which made him realized that she was a fake. I thought that it can be read as the bubble failed to understand Dipper in a more subtle and exquisite way, meaning it wasn't perfect when it comes to operations.
I came up with a hypothesis that Fake Wendy was a combination of Dipper and Mabel's thoughts and subconscious. Let's say the bubble had a degree autonomy mainly based on Mabel's subconscious, as well as being able to read others, while Bill also puts a degree of inputs when necessary. With this hypothesis, it can probably allow rooms to explain the misunderstanding about Dipper and Wendy's relationships when the bubble tried to trap Dipper altogether by manipulating him with temptation. It could be from Bill's, Mabel's, or even both.
But I may have missed something or made mistakes when I was thinking about it. I willingly take constructive criticisms and corrections!
