As the score stands, France has beaten Norway and Kyrgyzstan has beaten Ireland thus determining exactly who will be going head to head in the finals for the 1978 Quidditch World Cup. The game will take place at the French National Quidditch Stadium during the weekend of August the 12th. Tickets for both the game and reservations for the camping ground have been sold out since the beginning of this year.
This year’s match is bound to be an exciting one. France’s teamwork has proven to be unbeatable so far. With arguably the best chasers in the league this year, the French (for once) are proving to be formidable opponents. That said - there is no one better to take them on than Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan’s team is unparalleled in speed. The team however, must prove that it can overcome its dark past; four years ago, at the last World Cup, Kyrgyzstan was disqualified for an illegal snitch capture. The 1974 game saw Kyrgyzstan Chaser Almazbek Jeenbekov catch the snitch and hand it off to the seeker Andrey Isanov mid-air.
More than the match, attendees look forward to the half-time shows from both countries. The French team boasts a parade of unicorns along with a special presentation from the Beauxbatons choir. Meanwhile, the Kyrgyzs are already facing problems as they try and transport hundreds of rocs for their halftime show. The giant bird-like creatures will no doubt be impressive. Hopefully, they will take to the climate of France.
