Got Path of Radiance working on an emulator so now I get to play it and be really annoying about it hehehe. Thoughts from literally one chapter and that chapter is the tutorial:
Really fond of the fact that Ike is unconscious within like 30 seconds of the game starting
and also really fond of the fact that Mist and Boyd both are mean to him about it
and Mist immediately pivoting to be mean to Boyd too! Her character is uhhh not the greatest overall but I do like the moments where she also gets to show off the family smartass gene; even if her hobbies are cooking and cleaning, she is still a mercenary kid and I like that she can have some rough edges too
The backdrop in the Greil Mercenaries' fort with the crossed axe and halberd seems like it's the inspiration for Engage form Ike, which is sweet. Buddy really loved his dad and his team :,)
Thinking about this because of someone else from group chat playing for the first time and being confused about Soren's age, but the fact that Soren is almost certainly older than Ike is a) cute, love when the older one is the tiny one! and b) makes it funnier that Ike is like the last guy allowed to do real mercenary work. He's 17 and dad thinks he kind of sucks but this tiny little mage who doesn't look a day over 16 gets a special assignment to go travel and train... ikesoren first fight I think and I do not need more fic WIPs but also Ike like "i'm so jealous aughghghghgh it should be ME" vs Soren "I am being sent away because no one wants me fr" .... great dynamic as always, they never miss
