PRINCE DIOMEDES OF ITHICA BUT EVERYONE THINKS HE'S NOT A GOOD HUSBAND BECAUSE HE'S ALWAYS OFF WITH HIS CREW.
When in reality he married Telemache before he fell for her because Tele "accidentally" got caught leaving his guest chambers and thus shotgun wedding. He didn't want her to look bad but then found it charming when she took him aside and was like "listen i don't need someone to do the job ive been doing for years i just need a guy whose name i can write on seals and you're the only one i trust not to be a total creep. if you marry me and come by once a year to remind everyone you exist then i don't care what you do otherwise."
But then they started writing often. And then he started visiting more often. And now they're kinda dating despite being married for a few years.
His crew, of course, finds it absolutely hilarious that Diomedes was proposed to by a bossy little princess and developed a crush on her but don't correct the rumors.
Tele "accidentally" got caught leaving his guest chambers - I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TELEMACHE, HONESTLY I RESPECT THE HUSTLE. I'm imagining the panic Diomedes must have felt being caught in such a compromising position with Odysseus' daughter of all people it's so funny to me.
Also ohmygod acquaitances to lovers that's so cute, picturing telemache in an identical veil to penelope walking behind her mother, using her now newly married freedom to do whatever she wants. The, sending some poor messenger back and forth because they keep writing and sending gifts to each other?
Diomedes is ofcourse ruling back in Italia and is busy building his cities there, and naturally he gets proposed to for marriages and everytime some king tries to enquire amongst Diomedes' people, the crew are all giggling like toddlers and like, "oh actually our king is lowkey very much in love with this princess he accidentally took for bride"
PENELOPE'S SUITORS MOCKING TELEMACHE WITH THE WHOLE "oh your husband left you behind and abandoned you" and she is SO TIRED OF THEIR NONSENSE, her totally NOT EAGERLY waiting for Diomedes' arrival, and then spending the next few days walking around arm in arm - TOTALLY NOT SHOWING HIM OFF.
