considering Levi’s childhood trauma, I can’t see him doing anything like that to Eren. neither can I see Eren crossing that line. Eren pushes the people he loves away; he forces them to do things they don’t want to do, yes, and he’s capable of hurting those he loves so that they will want to stay away from him, but I don’t see that extending to rape. I don’t think Eren is actually all that interested in sex, more so the subspace/intimacy of it all. He likes Levi telling him what to do, being in control of him, being close to him, taking care of him - he’d never admit it - which seems antithetical to his whole character, but because he trusts Levi, he would allow himself to slip into that place of vulnerability and I guess you could say, feel free enough to get out of his head for awhile and let someone else take over. 

(I realized this whole analysis is of their characters in my longfic LOL I personally would say this is canon but, you know)

however! I can see a dubcon situation from both sides.

I’ll just make it general; this could theoretically happen in canon after Eren comes back….it really only works if he and Levi had a relationship before his desertion but I guess it also being their first time could make for a super angsty whump? Whether or not Eren knows the specifics of Levi’s childhood, to a degree he knows Levi well enough to know it’s something that would hurt him. If he feels Levi is too insistent on uncovering the truth, and sees none of his usual methods are succeeding in pushing him away…he’d amp it up. In this scenario if Eren was aware Levi had feelings for him, that’s what he would target. He’d try and seduce Levi and then play the victim afterwards. He would goad Levi into doing it ‘if you’ve thought about me like that even once, you’ve already crossed that line’ ‘this is the only way left you can have me.’ Just vile stuff. Eren finally pushes Levi far enough that he snaps, which Levi would never do, but only Eren could push him to that point. So it’s dubcon in the sense that they want each other, but not like this, but they can’t have each other any other way. and after that’s when Eren makes it seem like he was ‘taken advantage of.’ I think it would be really hard to get Levi to do it unless Eren at first posited it as consensual with just enough ambiguity to make it seem like noncon after the fact)

I can see Eren using sex as self-harm. I can definitely see Eren being into CNC (in a healthier AU just because he thinks it’s hot Levi is strong enough to take him with or without his consent, if he wanted to) but in the context of canon this rough, hateful, self-destructive union is punishment, his penance, and it would succeed in pushing Levi away. (also, it’s like, this would be Eren getting what he wants in a way he doesn’t want it, but he wants it enough to still have it, which is the only way he ever gets what he wants.)

I also wrote a scene in the original version of my longfic where Levi & Eren are in the middle of a fight and end up hatefucking halfway through, and it’s very animalistic, half fight, half fucking, y’know? Levi is just so pissed at him (and heartbroken) and almost past the point of sanity. he’s demanding ‘tell me the truth’ while Eren, who’s super overstimulated, is refusing/trying to get him to stop (even though he doesn’t *really* want Levi to stop, he just doesn’t want to slip up and say something he can’t take back, hence dubcon)

and there are two ways you can take these scenarios: maybe Eren’s in heat and neither of them are thinking straight, maybe Eren uses that as an excuse and is just whining and begging and in abject agony for Levi (who is the strongest….but still only a man) or it’s not ABO & Eren is just being very manipulative and a part of Levi knows that, but another part of him doesn’t care and just wants Eren, the real Eren, whatever way he can have him.

I’m very into ‘sex being an expression of love when everything else is absent’ or ‘sex being the only time they’re truthful with each other’ 

(bonus: I can also see 15 year old Eren being into CNC because even in his fantasies Levi would never want him like that so in his head he reframes it as ‘punishment’ and also Eren thinks he shouldn’t want it, so the only way he can have it is if he doesn’t want it. do NOT look at Eren Jaeger’s browser history it is not a safe place) and Levi….I can’t see him being into CNC or any of that to be honest, but if Eren wanted him to role-play, he probably would. (like as long as he knew it was consensual, he probably would get off on Eren ‘not being able to get away’ (leaving him) and Eren’s (willing) submission)
