Mr. Kill Ep 1
Here are my thoughts about watching ep 1 of Mr. Kill. If haven't watched it, I will have some spoilers, so be warned.
Ranking of Ep 1: 9/10
OMG TEEEEE I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU DUDE. I am not ashamed to say that half of the time I was watching, I was literally fangirling the fact that Tee has a MC role. I have been seeing this man play minor/support roles in main series (i.e. Perfect 10 Liners), and omg he played the detective role perfectly. The fact that his micro expressions slightly show his internal monologues a bit helps contextualize how he puts up the scene and also just draw the audience as he is studying the clues or anticipating the next hit. And knows how to fight too based on the moves he did with the pervert character at the signing. Hope that he was having fun, especially since he had to play as a serious character (Detective Phat), unlike the other roles I've seen him in. Glad that you're able to shine more, dude!
DEW, great acting as always. Dew plays his role perfectly of an anxious little bean with his character, Kaye, practicing his smile and slightly panicky modes as he worked his job as a mangaka. If he turns out to be the actual murderer, though I swear it's always misleading with the hints even when it's sort of showing it might be him, I want him to have an actual motive or maybe even be anti-hero since the victims seem to be people who screwed a lot of people badly, especially those involved in the working class. Very talented too as I remember every art was drawn by him, including the Nekros concepts and pages. But his character, Kaye, is definitely hiding something. I know that he's panicking a lot because everything does seem to be framing him as the culprit and him lowkey destroying evidence in his apartment (very sad apartment). But he lowkey reminds me of Ivan from Alien Stage and Nakamura from Ganbare! Nakamura!! (don't judge me lol), so I will give him a large benefit of the doubt.
AND I SHOULDN'T FORGET SINGHA. I honestly was sold by her performance in Wu Series, and I'm so glad during the official trailer that she was going to be part of the cast. She really got better in this one and love how her character had banter with Tee's character as a little sister should lol. The fact her character tricked Tee's was great, especially the reveal of him paying the ticket. But give her character credit for being the person who connected everything and everyone since Phat and Kaye were able to meet through the meeting. Though did her character realllly had to give information to Off's character? Sounds a bit sus and more people to suspect. Love a smart queen though. And potentially showing a GL ship between her character, Praew, and Mata's character, Prim (crossing fingers!). I might add more characters, especially since Neo, Mata, and Off are in it, but kudos to everyone so far. The mystery is realllly interesting still and I'm so set for the next 9 weeks. Love how they slowly show the scenes and the slight morbid fascination in each scene. Crossing fingers though that the plotline doesn't drop or become too complicated that finale eventually ties up everything into anti-climatic ending or similar to how Dare You to Death went that ended up in a floppy mystery.
Also I see you, GMMTV, with the dialogues between Phat and Kaye. Phat already has some slight interest and Kaye...I think he's already there lol. I'm definitely seeing more fics getting written, maybe even fanart. I know it's bromance, so hopefully same beautiful relationship in the Wu Series. BTW it's not queerbaiting since I know there has been people mad about The Wu Series and because they had SkyNani and thinking that they were lied/had scenes where it should be BL instead. I personally HC them as qpr, which might be the same in Mr. Kill in the same fashion. A bit power imbalance and lowkey kind of similar beginnings as Goddess Bless You from Death (again, great series that is 9/10 in my book overall), but might have both characters as each other's anchors.
GMMTV I give you the benefit of the doubt so far since you did start The Wu Series in similar fashion in terms of plot and characters, but eh, we'll see. Lol, didn't think that my actual first post will be this long, but here's hoping that the next episode will be great!
