What are your favorite kinds of tea?
off the top of my head, here are a few favs that i'd recommend *_*/
Lupicia: chestnut green tea, melon oolong super grade, grapefruit green, melon oolong, tochiotome green, sencha makurazaki, muscat oolong, tokio green, pineapple oolong
Yogi egyptian licorice (if you like licorice/spicy flavored teas. i'm generally not into spiced/chai type teas but this is an exception. it's sooo good and has a hint of sweetness!)
Yamamotoyama green tea
sticky rice oolong
silver needle white tea
longjing (dragonwell) tea
ginger tea (i prefer to use straight-up ground ginger, add boiled water & honey, IT'S REALLY GOOD. could prob add lemon juice as well, i've yet to try that)
earl grey
genmaicha (green tea with brown rice)
every day we've been at this hotel, i've been really grateful for the in-room kettle / mini-stove
that feeling when you make the perfect cup of tea
aaaa so good i'm gonna die

I live in the US and I never make tea this way. I just use a kettle on the stove like normal— the water never really comes to a proper full boil in the microwave, and it might be psychological but I don’t think the tea comes out as well. :P
Yeah, I can't imagine the tea coming out like it should. x_X I also might have a bit of a psychological thing with microwaves, which doesn't help - mine used to be kept on the top of some cupboards so it was really hard to clean and always looked gross inside so I didn't like using it. The thought of putting anything in there is just... Ichk *shudder*

Yeah the understanding of tea in the US is lacking at best. Most people buy Lipton with is like the devil incarnate. People hate tea because it’s bitter and I have to remind them that they either are buying shitty tea or not steeping it right.
:c Maybe that's why tea isn't as popular in the US. It's such a shame.

i am being a tea snob hahahah. but really, microwave makes some gross hot water, that experience is entirely different
bahahaha, well, nothing like a bit of tea snobbery~ And I agree, I've used the microwave to heat up tea/coffee but it never tastes the same so I can't imagine starting with a cup as gross as warmed-up tea. x___x
