Plot: y/n and Jamie are a couple and it’s the offseason, they decided to go on a cruise for their vacation. It’s their anniversary as well so it may escalate to something else. It’s an eight day cruise and there’s three formal nights and one of them is an Italian restaurant. Little did she know that there’s a surprise happening after dating Jamie for three years. They’re gonna be very offline with their teammates and messages.

Y/ns pov:

Jamie and I are heading to Norfolk for a cruise and our vacation away from home. It would take us 16 hours to drive to the port, so we left on Friday morning and got there by Saturday at noon.

We had our bags packed in the car, and I got into the passenger seat. He put his hand on my thigh and said “you ready for this vacation love?” “I absolutely am Jamie..” i replied.

The whole car ride was full of fun, listening to our music playlist, talking about what we’ll do on vacation and how we’ll spend time on the ship on sea days.

“There’s two elegant nights Jamie, and we can take pictures on the boat, and you can buy them if you want to as well.” “I’d love to do that with you my love, get pictures of me and you being all sweet and warm together.”

Jamie and I got to the port, we boarded the ship and got into our room, the first thing we decided to do was take a nap because of leaving so early in the morning.

When we woke up, the ship left and was in motion to the first location of Half Moon Cay, Bahamas. The first night on the ship was pretty good, but it was a bit rocky and rough.

For our elegant night, I wore a nice dress and Jamie wore a suit, we went to go take pictures for each other, I had my hand on his chest and looking at him with love in my eyes.

*Jamie’s pov*

Little did y/n know, I was gonna propose to her and make her my wife. She’s always so beautiful and sweet and I love the way she looks at me.

I wanted to propose to y/n on the second elegant night that we had, I wanted her to be all dressed up and pretty she gets the surprise.

I had the ring and everything, I brought it with us and I can’t wait to do it. She always looks so cute and so beautiful all the time and I can’t wait to make her my wife.

I called ahead for a photo shoot with one of the photographers and scheduled to do the proposal there.

Today we had the elegant night, and I’m taking pictures with Jamie on one knee, I turned around and saw him proposing.

I gasped softly and put my hand over my mouth, “y/n, would you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me? you and I have been through some rough times and we need each other more than ever, so what do you say y/n?”

“Yes Jamie, I will marry you, and I wanna be better with you every single day, and I can’t wait to share more memories with you.”

He put the ring on my finger, and we kissed, the pictures we have taken of us together are very nice and sweet. After dinner is where it escalated, we got back from dinner and we got handsy.

like i really, truly hope hannah waddingham and juno temple knows how impactful their characters are as women in sports because not only are they successful, but they are sexy and feminine and authentic and that allows them to be successful.

idk. it was always awkward and hard growing up and being a woman who loved and valued sports—especially mens sports (boooooo)—and to have two women on a screen being successful in their roles in mens sports has been so ??? therapeutic ??? comforting ??? inspiring ???
