It felt oddly nostalgic, smoking. It reminded her of wilder times and purposefully ripped tights. Flicking ash onto the sidewalk, she looked down the street with pursed lips. Ruby didn’t know if she was imagining it or not, but the city seemed quieter again. She couldn’t decide if that was a good thing or bad thing, if people were choosing to maybe stay in and lick their wounds alone or everyone had decided to just calm down for a moment. Putting her cigarette back to her lips, she continued down the sidewalk only to bump shoulders with someone exiting a business. Sidestepping a little, she pulled the cigarette away and looked to the figure with wide eyes. “So sorry I shouldn’t have-Oh. Oh hi.” A small smile tugged at the corners of her lips, her eyes looked up the sign on the door and then back to the man.
