NEWS, ARCHIVE: 20th Anniversary of L.A. Riots - Now and Then by Ted Soqui
It’s been 20 years since LAPD officers were acquitted of beating Rodney King --- and the subsequent rioting that paralyzed the city.
Much has changed in the urban landscape of Los Angeles: Where there was once a building in flames, there is now a shopping mall. Where there were blocks of rubble, there is now a school.
Award-winning photographer Ted Soqui has revisited the spaces he photographed almost 20 years ago, documenting how Los Angeles has moved beyond the riots of 1992.
