Never Records is a project of Irish artist Ted Reiderer, a pop-up record company in various storefronts and galleries around the world, instantaneously cutting records of performers who visit  the shop. And this is its document, one night only, Friday, March 27, 8:00.Â
With director Jason Wyche and Ted Riederer himself, plus Context Gallery curator Theo Sims, joining us at the theater!
opens Tonight Tues, Sept 10, 6-8p: âOnly Foreverâ  Ted Riederer The Lodge Gallery, 131 Chrystie St., NYC (bt Delancey & Broome) This two week ensemble set will consist of paintings, sculpture, photography, and interactive old media analog assemblage, all of which provide a deep view into a more intimate body of work by Riederer, best known for his critically acclaimed international performance project, âNever Records.â An interactive bricolage of guitar and bicycle parts allows visitors to produce looped melodies from a fixed set of notes and percussive elements. An array of flaming guitars line the gallery, oil paintings made with old master mediums and leaded glass powder. Also filling the space is the warm sound of Bing Crosbyâs voice, a looped vinyl record repeating âOnly Foreverâ on a vintage turntable. - thru Sept 21

Ted Riederer - Primal Sounds
Skull Sculptures Made From Melted Vinyl Records
Artist and musician Ted Riedererâinspired by both his passionsâcreates beautiful sculptures by melting old vinyl records over a plastic skull mold.Â
The series, called âPrimal Soundâ, is heavily inspired by Rainer Maria Rilkeâs essay of the same title.Â
âIn this essay he ponders what sound the coronal suture would make as it closely resembles a sound wave. He proposes that this process of combining what seems like disparate elements initially to create something that the world has never heard, is a model for making good art,â said Riederer.Â
The vinyl skulls look morbidly beautiful on their own, or stacked up as a pyramid.Â
