The Cuban Missile Crisis: The Cuban Missile Crisis was a 13-day confrontation in October 1962 between the United States and the Soviet Union, bringing the world to the brink of nuclear war. The crisis arose when the Soviet Union placed nuclear missiles in Cuba, which the United States discovered. A tense standoff ensued, with both sides taking steps toward military conflict, but a resolution was eventually reached through negotiations.

A time when technology has failed to meet expectations was during my high school year. This was when I got my first phone and texting was huge at my school. I had sent a message through text my with phone and before I was even able to send it, it would always auto correct a word or name I was trying to write out with a different word. This led to many misunderstanding for example when I was texting a friend or girlfriend, girlfriend specifically. I would spell out her name and (her name was not a name that was maybe in the normal auto correct database I’m assuming) sent my message with confidence only to get angry response form her usually saying “Who’s this “Brianna” (<---not her name obviously)  you speak off  “insert angry emoji” ??” and you know how the rest goes. Clearing this misunderstanding was quite difficult considering to most people they may think “Who would make this error” and find it hard believing since it is a negative stereotype that males have many girls names/numbers saved on their phones. You can only imagine how bad that affected my relationship during that time. Anyways now for the instances with my friends it was not as bad but sometimes my phone would have messages saved so there were times when I was trying to comfort a friend and it autocorrected a word to make light of the situation when it should have been completely serious. This left my friend in more of a slump misunderstanding that I was taking him and his situation discussed as a joke. Thankfully, I was able to clear the misunderstandings but it did bother me that these turn of events happened and created problems for me but sometimes its nice to see these kinds of experiences happen first hand. Never again though, I always double check my messages before sending them now.

And also: all the photos from the phone have been destroyed, of course. I have uploaded some snaps to Dropbox, but not all. Now I’m wiser: I customized the settings so that my phone will send every photo automatically to OneDrive as soon as it catches internet connection.
