So now i have 4 boot options in grub now and I missed my three second window to scroll to 3.2 so it booted into 3.13 and as i’m trying to log out again i realized....everything is working again. Emerald has my original theme. Compiz is wobbling windows everywhere. My terminal is transparent again....
yay for kernel 3.13. My accidental savior.
It even autoloaded my wifi settigs and ALL THREE conky displays are working and correct.
So that came up with a million broken files so i did sudo apt-get -f install and dpkg --configure -a and ran all the updates again and I have icons now. WHOOOHOOO!
Running compiz results in...flashy blinky screen, and all windows effects crashing, and all of the windows get pasted exactly where they were with no way to close them.
Still no synaptic package manager, but I was able to sudo open a text editor and manual edit my sources.list
Then apt-get update, apt-get upgrad, apt-get dist-upgrade. This looks liek it will be running for a while.
But at least it’s resolving the domain names
