— ❋ @techiedcvil ;; big brother.
❝ I’m sorry Carlos, but it’s looking like we don’t have anyone else. One person didn’t show up. ❞ The older woman with compassionate eyes said to the younger as she looked over her clip board in hand. Normally they avoided this kind of thing, ensuring that there was always equal numbers for the days when they paired you up with a big brother or big sister. But it seemed, they had grown a little too confident, and that left one of the boys without a big sibling for the after school program. ❝ Until he shows up, maybe you could–– ❞
❝ I’m so sorry I’m late! ❞ The sentence’s end is cut off roughly by the sound of a crashing door against a brick wall behind it. The man who enters is a thinly thing, hardly someone people would expect to make such a loud entrance. Caspian hissed at the sound of the door banging, scrunching up his shoulders and narrowing his eyes as he caught the door with his foot to stop it from slamming closed again. ❝ Sorry, sorry. ❞ he repeats in a quiet tone, the woman with the clip board looking over at him with a relatively unimpressed look on her face. ❝ The bus was late and then there was this thing happening on Campus so I –– ❞ He looked at the woman, who merely raised a brow at him. He stops, tucks his lower lip into his mouth and falls silent under her gaze.
❝ Caspian Bengal, is it? ❞ The woman asks, her tone entirely different than it had been with Carlos. As Caspian nodded, shifting his side bag over his right shoulder the woman merely rolled her eyes and motioned to Carlos. ❝ This is you new little brother for the program, you’ve been brought up to speed on how the program works? Every Thursday, and on time, if you please. ❞ The woman scolded mildly, making Caspian give a sheepish little smile.
❝ Yes, I promise I’ll be on time next week. ❞ Caspian urges, casting a small glance to Carlos –– after all, he was the one he should be apologizing to, he felt bad for making him wait so long.
