So Akhi asks me to teach him how to knit on Monday evening. I ask him, “Why do you want to learn how to knit?” He says, “Because I want to knit like Gogo Nini (my mom) and make you a scarf” So I dig up some 9mm needles, some chunky yarn and embark on what I thought would be an epic journey fraught with tears. Not so. It only took 30 minutes for him to get it. I found him last night just before bedtime, sitting on his chair, knitting while watching CBeebies. I guess the repetitiveness is calming and it’s definitely helping with his dexterity.
