When Calls the Heart S8 Finale Speculation
Brian Bird tweeted about the finale: “You won’t see this S8 finale script for When Calls the Heart coming.” Well, I am going to PROVE HIM WRONG! :D
I sprinkled in a few speculations I thought could be good guesses for the finale surprise, but most of these are unfounded and ridiculous. They’re meant for amusement and dispelling the tension of the war-of-the-Hearties between Team Nathan and Team Lucas, the new Elizabeth/Rosemary angst, and generally a tumultuous and very charged episode 9 tonight. <3 I love you all.
Here is a very broad spectrum of guesses for the season 8 finale SHOCKER:
1. Nathan and Elizabeth get married. Whoaaaa, out of the blue, super quick, slow down cowboy. So, I read a fanfiction where Elizabeth and Nathan got together, and then Allie’s birth father came looking for Allie and stirred up trouble, so Elizabeth and Nathan chose to get married immediately because a married couple adopting Allie would speed up the adoption process and get Dylan Parks out of the way. Now I wasn’t sure if Allie’s adoption has actually gone through in canon season 8 (I thought Bill said that it could take a while to finalize), but I have to ask myself, why did they introduce bad Mr. Dylan Parks in the first episode only to have him dealt with so quickly? Maybe he comes around again and this forces Nathan to do something drastic to speed up Allie’s adoption and then Elizabeth comes to her senses and suggests they get married... I don’t know
2. Abigail comes back to Hope Valley. I... don’t know how I feel about this one. I know some really want it and some really don’t. I just reeeeeally wanted to see Henry and Abigail be together back in season 6. :( But I think they absolutely did the right thing back then by rewriting.
3. Henry dies. Awh no, please no, but I have a feeling we’re in for a ride with Henry and his health. It doesn’t seem over for his hbp health scares
4. Lucas goes to jail. I don’t know, this whole calling in Christopher thing could just be one of many infractions... it’s just he acts so nice, no one keeps up that veneer all the time c’mon man (I’m just kidding, just a joke)
5. Julie Thatcher moves to Hope Valley and takes up with Lucas! I always thought Julie and Lucas would be really good together, sue me :)
6. Elizabeth falls in love with HENRY and ditches both these men and gets with Henry instead. Hay, now, it COULD happen. “Once you rule out the impossible whatever remains, however improbable, must be true.” :)
7. The Spanish influenza comes to Hope Valley - no fatalities, but Carson and Faith work together as a team one last time before he leaves, and the whole town bands together. Maybe Clara sews face-masks for everyone to wear to avoid catching it! (Sound familiar? History repeating itself... I mean this season is around the right time for the spanish flu!)
8. CAT MONTGOMERY SHOWS UP AND IS LIKE, HEY, I’VE BEEN HERE THE WHOLE TIME
9. Elizabeth has Little Jack choose which man she is going to be with. She places LJ in between Nathan and Lucas, and which ever man he goes running - or toddling - to, that man will be the winner!
10. Jack is ALIVE. He gallops into town, blames his absence on amnesia from the landslide (hey it works in every single other story), relieves Nathan of his duties, and sweeps Elizabeth onto his saddle and they ride away into the sunset
11. Minnie Canfield becomes the new mayor of Hope Valley, and with her husband as the new pastor, the two of them run the whole town
12. Laura goes on strike, working too many hours as Elizabeth’s babysitter XD
13. Elizabeth is the one who asks her chosen man to marry her. Hey, we got a very romantic and lovely traditional proposal the first time around, why not flip-flop this time around? It would show us all the decisive, non-waffling Elizabeth we’ve been missing!
14. Rosemary and Lee adopt a little one from Brookfield! I just finished When Hope Calls Season 1, and I was so glad those two showed up in Brookfield to deliver lumber and stayed with the kids and Lillian and Grace. I think it’s only a matter of time... those two would be spectacular parents :)
15. Bill plants a big one on Molly in the middle of the street. Aw, it’s just waiting to happen with those two.Â
16. Elizabeth reads Nathan’s plaque with the Emerson quote, “Always do what you are afraid to do.” Then she makes her decision. Since she basically spelled out that she was too afraid of loss to be with Nathan in episode 2, well..... decision made and throwback to season 6 here we come! By the way, I thought it was HILARIOUS that they had a scene in Ep. 9 with Nathan coming in the library like, “Hey, I can read too!”Â
That’s good for y’all people who thought Nathan was horrible and trashed him and Allie!!! In the end he still ended up supporting Elizabeth and Lucas... hope he finds loves because he really does deserve it despite what people thought about him💕 Even after all this time I’m still #TeamNathan not because he belongs with Elizabeth but because he deserves to be happy and loved 🥰

I love how
All of us in the KevEdd/R!KevEdd ship have just accepted certain things. R!Edd is a depressed/suicidal, angry swimmer who usually can speak at least French and is a terrifying physical bully, R!Kev is a robotic/quiz bowl nerd who truly is to sweet for his own good and his hat is a quiz bowl hat, his pet name is pumpkin (French translation or not), usually ends up in a weird ice breaking situation. Also, Nat is basically a staple character. He should be just added to the show. Thank you lovely beings for basically shaping the architecture of the world i read in!!!!! @asphyyyy @c2ndy2c1d
Happy Birthday KEVIN MCGARRY!
Crimson Sky (sung by ours truly) is my new favorite song. It really highlights Kevin’s voice. It’s absolutely beautiful.Â
I think it’s fair to say I’m not just #TeamNathan, I’m #TeamKevin. Kevin, you inspire me as a performer and as a human. I love your joy, your vibrancy, your authenticity. Keep shining on.
