10 years ago.... let me set the scene.. in early 2008 I had just signed my first deal with a Japanese label, River City Records, for a Japan-Only release called Randomonium. So to celebrate state-side, I made an EP for me...For the block I came up on, Woodstock St. The beats were all done by DJ DN3 and Raze Brooks who produced “Fly,” which I still play today. The artwork was done by one of my oldest friends from the neighborhood, Blue Robin. The songs are about the good times, the tough times and how we keep going. I still go back to it from time to time and remember the good old days. I called it “Patches and Glue” because as a young buck in the neighborhood, all we had, all we treasured was our bikes. If we ever had a flat, we went to the local bodega and picked up a $1 fix-a-flat kit, containing patches and glue. That was all we needed to get back on the horse and keep moving. Later, friends became my Patches & Glue. Faith. Music. You. Thank you for listening and keeping me going. #TeamMega (at Upper North Philadelphia)
