The day was not yet over for us, part of our package tour is the accommodation at Paras Beach Resort, although I don’t know other resorts in the island, I have to say it’s one good place to rest and have fun! Definitely going to recommend to all of you, with complimentary welcome juice and fruits, Nice! Our room was huge and comfy. Complete with toiletries, bath and beach towels, robes, etc. good service and accommodating staffs. No time to waste though, after 20 minutes rest, we are again off to different places as part of the island tour, but first, we had a stopover at Cafe 1914 where we had the so called best “Halo-Halo in town”, my review in a different post. Up next is the Katibawasan Falls, upon entering the area, you can feel the cold breeze of the falls, and what a sight!, it is located at the foot of Mt. Timpoong, Barangay Upper Pandan, approximately five kilometers southeast of the Municipality of Mambajao. According to the town folks, the waterfalls relatively measures 250 feet high down-rushing into a man-made rock pool. Time to take cool and fun photos, funny thing is, all of us did not dare to swim because the water is cold, 2x colder than that of the cold spring, I guess? Pose here and pose there, nice experience though! What I’m really excited about is the Ardent Hot Springs, and that’s our next stop, the place was a bit crowded, but overall it’s a good place to swim and relax. We plunged into the different pools and tested the waters, as you go down the area, the warmer it gets. I definitely want to go back there when I have a chance to visit the island again. Back to our resort, dinner first then took a bath, relaxed, chill and hangout with friends. Best times indeed!
Woke up at 6am, then off to the famous White Island Sandbar at Camiguin. A 15 minutes boat ride from our resort. I suggest go there early morning for sunrise or at sunset, because there are no shades and trees, it’s a bare island, love the beach!! with the Mt. Hibok-Hibok as the background, here we got to experience the best of the best! Took several cool photos, and had a chance to swim in a very cool and unique setting. Never ever leave Camiguin without visiting the Sandbar ok?
Next stop is the Mantigue Island, hmmm first impression of the island is that the powdery sand is quite nice to feel and touch. Although experiencing it is another story, hahaha, well, we had our lunch there and we went out for a good swim! Good? Hmmm I guess not. The place was fairly kempt within local standards. If you're expecting western amenities, clean restrooms, showers and crystal clear waters for snorkeling and dip, this isn't your place… will I go back? maybe not. After that, time to go back to Cagayan De Oro, another travel for the 9 of us. Exhausting! but looking back, I LOVE CAMIGUIN ISLAND.
