The Jonathan hate in this fandom is really getting to me. Itās just beyond stupid and annoying af at this point. But can we just chat for a minute about the fact that Dustin, Eddie and Robin were pushing/encouraging Steve to try and get with Nancy? Like first off, kinda think she has other things on her mindā¦ like trying to kill Vecna, clear Eddieās name, and save the whole fucking town plus the van full of people she lovesā¦ maybe she has bigger priorities than hearing about Steveās stupid ass fantasies, especially given the fact they havenāt even really talked in over a year. But good advice, guys. š
Second, they are very possibly setting up this person they care about to get his heart broken because like WHAT SHITTY TIMING plus you know, SHEāS IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH SOMEONE SHE LOVES. I mean, COME ON. š
Third, what a flat out shitty thing to doā¦ like 100% shitty. I mean, itās cool now to encourage someone to try and break up two people? Like Jonathan wasnāt trying to break up Stancy AT ALL and in fact did several things to try and push Nancy back toward Steve. Yet heās still getting hate for whatā¦ breathing I guessā¦ 2 years later? I suppose I get Eddie and Robin donāt really know Jonathan but they know Nancyā¦ and itās acceptable to try to destroy a relationship sheās been in for a year and halfā¦ and IS STILL IN EVEN THOUGH HE LIVES IN CALIFORNIA?? Like obviously they love each other or they would have broken up when he moved across the country but yup, disregard that relationship because Steveās wishes and desires are top priority. And donāt even get me started on Dustinā¦ he knows Nancy AND Jonathan and youād think he cares about Nancy at least enough to not want Steve to try and destroy a relationship she cares aboutā¦ right?? Like come onā¦ all these Jonathan haters out there pick on every fucking thing he does, including supposedly breaking up Stancy (he didnāt) but these three encouraging Steve to try and break up Jancy is cool?? And itās okay that Steve decided to take their advice and do exactly what he hates Jonathan for? What SENSE does this make?? Steve doesnāt even talk to her about how she and Jonathan are doing, if theyāre together, etc. Seriously, leave Jonathan the fuck alone if you are going to let other characters get away with shit like thisā¦. š¤¬š”

Those of you who want Steve and Jonathan to form a friendship of some sort in s5, please explain how that could realistically happen.
Say what you want about Jonathan in s1 (and s2) but he never tried to get with Nancy while she was with Steve. In fact, he pushed her toward Steve and even lied to her in order to help Steve save face with her.
So when Jonathan finds out about the six nuggets speech (and he will), we expect him to be cool with it and want to be friends with Steve? Will he be cordial and get along with him? Sure. Itās Jonathan. Heāll do it for Nancy but realistically, how can they be friends now? Explain it to me like Iām 5.

Like, I feel they both have matured and moved on from each other and it's almost idk a loss of character arcs to get them back together (maybe that is not what it is but I felt that way about s4 even, I felt like the characterization was off for them)
I felt the same way! I hope itās not the whole love triangle thing. I mean I know it could be a part of the season but I donāt want that to be the main focus for them.
Maybe they split up and are in different areas and one group is āteam Steveā and one is āteam Jonathanā.

The songs are interesting choices. They definitely gave stancy vibes too and Iām not digging it.
